The metabolic starting point before targeted work-up.
One blood draw · a broad metabolic profile · the same scale at every follow-up
01 The category
Most people start with an intervention. We start with the baseline.
Training, nutrition, supplements, GLP-1, hormone therapy, fasting — the options keep
growing. Without a shared metabolic baseline it stays unclear where a targeted work-up is warranted
and what actually changes over time.
GLOLAB creates that baseline — measured broadly,
contextualised by a physician and comparable again on the same scale.
02 What has changed in the consultation room
Your patients are already doing something. What is missing is a common scale.
Without a shared metabolic baseline it stays unclear where a targeted work-up is warranted — and what actually changes over time.
03 Why GLOLAB exists
I wanted more science in this field — for myself.
Longevity has become a vast market — supplements, programmes, protocols, each with a promise. Anyone who wants to know whether any of it works finds opinions. What is missing is a scale.
plenty of offerings·plenty of claims·no common scale
That is why GLOLAB begins with a measurement, not a product. GLOLAB sells neither supplements nor therapies. The measurement is there to show where a closer look is warranted — not what needs to be sold afterwards.
04 The difference
The value is normal. The pattern is not.
The same blood sample, two answers. GLOLAB looks not only at the single value but at the metabolic pattern around it. The consequence: investigate further where it is worthwhile, and check again on the same scale next time.
Your lab answers targeted questions.GLOLAB helps you recognise which question to pursue next. It does not replace your lab — it comes before it.
06 And if I already measure more broadly
An advanced panel remains a selection made in advance.
ApoB, Lp(a), insulin, hsCRP, hormones, micronutrients, CGM, DEXA — anyone working this way already measures far beyond the standard lab. But each of these parameters was requested individually, because someone had a hypothesis first.
Your targeted diagnostics+standardised metabolic baseline
=
the same scale at re-test
GLOLAB neither replaces nor corrects your advanced diagnostics. It adds a broad measurement from a single system — and returns the same scale at re-test.
07 A case
What you hold in your hands when the report arrives.
Patient54, maleFour months on GLP-1. −9 kg. Presenting for follow-up. Routine labs unremarkable.
What the pattern showsThree findings across three different systems: lipoprotein particle profile, an elevated inflammatory signal, and an amino acid pattern that stands out in the context of weight loss.
Why this combination was not obviousEach would have required its own order, its own justification and its own price — in a patient without symptoms.
Your decisionAdd body composition deliberately. Review protein intake and resistance training. Re-test in six months — on the same scale.
Illustrative case. The value lies not in the individual marker but in three signals becoming visible at once. The conclusion is yours to draw.
08 For whom
One baseline. Many typical self-pay situations.
The same sequence applies well beyond this one case. The same measurement supports prevention, GLP-1 follow-up, cardiometabolic care, hormone therapy and performance medicine — without assembling a separate panel for every question.
09 The nine fields
Nine clinical fields. All from the same measurement.
Clinical managementCardiovascular titration8–12 wksSGLT2 · cardio-renalevery six monthsHormone therapy · HRT & TRTevery six months
Life stage · regeneration · performanceMenopause · transitionevery six monthsSkin & aestheticsopenPerformance & sportseasonal
No separate panel per question. The same blood draw, the same scale — the cadence follows the clinical question, not the test.
10 Where NMR is particularly strong
Three indications where NMR adds information.
Cardiovascular riskParticle number rather than cholesterol massThe classical domain of NMR: number and size of lipoprotein particles directly from one spectrum — where LDL-C reflects only the mass being transported.
Chronic inflammationAn integrated signal rather than a snapshotA composite inflammatory marker derived from the spectrum. It fluctuates less than a single acute-phase value and is therefore better suited to follow-up.
Insulin resistance & diabetesPatterns before the threshold tipsAmino acid signatures are associated with later insulin resistance in large cohorts — years before HbA1c moves.
Not a promise to prevent disease. A window of time for a decision — and a scale on which you can later see how the measured metabolic profile has changed.
11 What NMR is
The same physics as MRI. Applied to a blood sample.
01Magnetic fieldThe serum sample enters a strong magnetic field. No reagent, no antibody, no preparation per analyte.
02SignatureEvery substance responds at its own position in the spectrum — a signature as distinctive as a fingerprint. That is why a single run reads all of them at once.
03QuantificationThe height of each signal indicates how much is present. Hundreds of measures are determined from one spectrum simultaneously.
Unlike MRI, no image is produced — a measurement is. Nuclear magnetic resonance has been established for decades: in chemistry, in structural biology, and as MRI in the clinic. What is new is not the physics but that it now runs routinely on a blood sample.
12 Why not your own lab
This is not an assay you simply add to an order.
InstrumentA spectrometer, not an analyser600 MHz, superconducting magnet, dedicated installation. The investment class of a major imaging device — not another channel on an existing system.
Pre-analyticsStandardised or worthlessSerum, frozen, unbroken cold chain. Comparability over months arises only if sample and procedure are identical every time.
ReferenceNo cohort, no interpretationA spectrum alone says nothing. Reference data by age and sex are needed to know what is unremarkable.
That is why it is not on your lab request form. Not because it is exotic — but because it is an infrastructure of its own.
13 What GLOLAB is
The metabolic trajectory layer of your practice.
One system, not four suppliers. The lab is one building block — the product is the layer around it.
14 What you are really buying
The test is the occasion. The system is the product.
GLOLAB does not operate the NMR laboratory — the analytics run on a specialised measurement platform. Our product is the layer above it: clinical structuring, evidence, software, practice workflow and longitudinal re-testing.
15 How GLOLAB is built
Not another test. A layer beneath.
GLOLAB provides the metabolic baseline and trajectory layer on which targeted
diagnostics and clinical decisions can build. Four roles, clearly separated.

16 What you actually see
Your report. And what your patient sees.
Your patient · the same values
Act now · monitor over time · deliberately do not treat — with evidence grade, population and source at every finding. Your patient receives the same values in their own language. Product vision · age dimensions are statistical signatures, not measured organ age.
17 The scientific layer
Current science. Already prepared for your patient.
You do not have to assemble the literature again. You have to judge it medically.

“I don't need an AI explaining medicine to me.” Nor is that GloDoc's purpose. No one takes your medical decision from you. What we take off your hands is the research behind it — prepared exactly where you need it in the report.
You never see hundreds of unstructured values. You receive a clinical order of priority — with the translation into patient language included.
01
Your team is preparedSampling, shipping and patient questions are part of onboarding. Your practice staff need to know nothing about NMR.

19 Doesn't that just create noise
Measuring broadly does not mean: treating everything.
A legitimate objection — and one we put to ourselves. A broad profile without prioritisation would generate incidental findings and unnecessary diagnostics.

Act nowRelevantWhat has a consequence today.
Over timeMonitorNotable, without acute need.
Deliberately notDo not treatNotable — and still: do nothing.
GLOLAB is not meant to generate more diagnostics but to help deploy diagnostics more precisely. The third category is the decisive one.
20 What is established and what is not
The method is published. The translation is our work.
EstablishedThe methodNMR metabolomics is published in large cohorts — mortality prediction, reproducibility, scaling to over 250,000 participants. That is not our claim, that is the literature.
Our workThe clinical translationPrioritisation, nine clinical fields, evidence grades, patient language. That is what makes GLOLAB — and the part that still has to prove itself in practice.
Hence a pilot rather than a roll-out presentation. The translation layer is calibrated against the founding-practice cohort — with your cases, under the medical leadership of your practice.
21 What it does
Four steps. Nothing else.
01
Blood drawVenous, within your existing appointment. 15 to 20 minutes, no device, no new equipment.
02
ProfileTypically 10 to 14 days. You receive it first — prioritised findings, linked sources, patient language.
03
Consultation30 to 45 minutes. You decide what matters medically and what makes sense next.
04
Re-testThe same measurement, the same method. For the first time you see not what the patient did — but what it changed.
22 How it fits your practice
What changes in your workflow: one blood draw.

23 What your team actually does
One extra tube. The rest is routine.
01
Two signaturesConsent and cost agreement — a self-pay service. Both forms come ready from us, completed in two minutes.
02
One additional serum tubeDuring a blood draw that is happening anyway. No separate appointment, no special timing — other than fasting.
03
Separate, freeze, collectCentrifuge as usual, store serum at −20 °C. Kit, labels and instructions come from us; we train your staff.
04
Shipping is on usCollect for one to two weeks, then ship in bulk with an unbroken cold chain. Pickup arranged, no effort for you.
What your practice does not need: a device, a lab contract, new software, an extra appointment.
24 Who decides what
We structure. You judge.
GLOLAB providesMeasurement, context, follow-upNMR analytics, prioritised report, evidence context, patient language, re-test on the same scale.
You decideIndication, therapy, follow-upHistory, assessment, diagnostics, prescription. Every therapeutic decision rests with you.
Your patient seesTheir trajectory, in your practiceComprehensible values, visible change, a reason to return — to you.
25 Two conversations
The same patient. Two conversations.
What today's data allows
“Your values are unremarkable.”
“You can carry on taking that.”
“Come back in a year.”
What you can say with a profile
“Your LDL is unremarkable. Your particle number is not — that changes the cardiometabolic assessment.”
“For two of your supplements there are measures we can sensibly follow over time. For the others this profile does not capture a suitable marker of effect.”
“In six months we measure the same again. Then we will see whether it made a difference.”
Not more research during the appointment — more scientific substance in the same conversation. That is the difference your patient hears and passes on.
26 What you add to your practice

Every step is medically justified — and every step is a physician service. A one-off check-up becomes longitudinal care because there is an open clinical question, not because an appointment was scheduled.
What this becomes in your practice depends on your patients and your services. That is precisely what the pilot measures.

Part 2 What the data looks like

03Source at the markerEvery finding carries evidence grade, population and limits — right where you need them.
Not 250+ diagnoses. A metabolic systems picture from which clinical questions can be derived.
Part 2 What it rests on
Published method. Openly stated limits.
MortalityDeelen 2019Meta-analysis across twelve cohorts. 14 markers, HR 2.73 per score point; C-statistic 0.84 versus 0.77 for conventional factors.
ScaleZhang 2024250,341 UK Biobank participants. From 325 NMR biomarkers, 54 representative ageing-associated markers.
Reproducibilityvan den AkkerOver 25,000 samples from 26 cohorts. Shows that the principle holds — not the reference against which measurement occurs.
The full literature — 133 sources from 75 journals with resolving DOI — is available at glolab.de. Every marker in the library carries an evidence grade from A to D — including those where the data is weak or inconsistent. What NMR cannot do is stated alongside: hormones and cell signalling molecules are not detectable.
Part 2 Data
The profile belongs to your patient. And to your practice.
